Our Mission

The mission of the Seniors Law Center (SLC) is to provide free legal services in civil matters to Kern County’s socially and economically challenged residents who are 60 years of age and older.

What We Do

SLC provides legal information, counseling, advice, administrative and judicial representation to individuals and groups of senior clients in our core areas of practice. Core areas include income maintenance, health, housing, elder abuse and other meritorious cases to the extent resources allow and the urgency of the matter.

Who We Help

To be eligible for services, the individual must reside in Kern County and be 60 years of age or older. There is no income test utilized to determine eligibility for services. However, Seniors Law Center is required to establish substantive priorities to ensure preference is given to those seniors in the greatest economic and/or social need. We provide both telephone and in-house consultations, and our services are FREE.
